How B•O•N
was inspired

“My husband Jarrett and I started our married life by resigning from our jobs, leaving Johannesburg and buying a farm outside Richmond in KwaZulu Natal. We went from slick Joburg lives to rustic farm living.

Jarrett started off our new adventure by focussing on producing eucalyptus oil in bulk quantities for the pharmaceutical industry. Our new friends and neighbours, who were very interested in our business, kept asking for small bottles of oil to try at home. So began the idea of a retail product range.

A few years later, when I was pregnant with our first child, Stephen, I asked Jarrett to create a tissue oil for me with natural oils that would be safe, nourishing, and would really work. By this stage, I was hooked on the power of natural and essential oils.

Jarrett ordered various oils which he blended in our kitchen. Months of trial and error using me as the test guinea pig began. I used the blends throughout my pregnancy and by the time Stephen was born, we had a product we loved and trusted. Our Pure Tissue Oil was born and has been in my bathroom and the children’s bedroom ever since.

It’s amazing to think that we now produce more than a ton of Pure Tissue Oil every month for customers all over the world. Using state of the art computerised equipment to manufacture and package our products, at our factory in Hilton.

The next challenge was to add to our sensitive skincare range, providing our family, and everyone else, with a range of everyday products. These products now include our Natural Olive & Rose Oil Soap, Moisturising Facial Cleanser, Intensive Hand & Body Moisturiser and our Anti-Ageing Face Creams.

Since launching over a decade ago, what makes us happiest is the thousands of testimonials that we receive from our satisfied customers. Being able to offer affordable, natural products that really work is what drives us more than anything else.”

Environment & Sustainability

• Our essential oils are produced from managed plantation sources and are therefore sustainable and renewable;
• No harvesting from wild stands is permitted;
• Our essential oils are extracted by steam distillation – no harmful chemicals are used in our production processes;
• The leaf material used to extract the essential oils is dried and used as a “green fuel” for production purposes;
• In addition to using the “waste leaf” as a green fuel it also converted into a sterile, environmentally friendly mulch, which is used for pet bedding and gardening;
• In the production of refined eucalyptus oil, we obtain a terpene based by-product, which is sold as a “bio-fuel”, helping other businesses to reduce their own carbon footprints.
